Day 674: The Purple Lego Dot Jewellery Box.

I went to my local Morrisons the other week and found this set. I happily bought this set to build and reviewed as it was a set that appealed for its uses and not as a jewellery box. I built this set in an hour and while its still very girly – when it could of easily been a more gender neutral colour – as a project it’s like the rest of the Lego dots range has many versatile applications whether as a jewellery box, a trinket box, or a mini-figure box. Its uses is completely up to you.

Lego Facts:

Set code: 41915
Series: Lego Dots.
Number of Pieces: 374
Year: 2020
Age: 6+

The Dots:

The set comes with 2 shapes of dots in 6 colours

  • Light Pink.
  • Turquoise.
  • Lilac.
  • Lime Green.
  • Dark Green.
  • Magenta.

In each colour there are 22 squares and 26 quarter circle tiles. That’s enough tiles to decorate the box top plus a couple extra but you might want to buy some extra dots to create more variations of designs.

The inside of the box divides into three but the the middle dividers can be moved or removed from the box completely. The box is approximately 4cm in depth and 12 cm Length and Width so the boxes are a good size for any one wanting to store small trinkets in the box.

Is it worth the money paid for it?

The set is really versatile and with the pieces you get there is a lot of decorating however to me it is still very much a girly range even though boys are seen in the posters and advertisement materials. That said the pieces are practical and some adult Lego fans might fall in love with the makes to decorate the office or a studio craft space. This box really is only aimed at girls but with a colour change it would make a nice boys treasure or trinket box. I’ve found it great to keep all my Lego bands in it and my brick separators. I also like how with the additional Dot packs you can customise the set. I’m actually tempted to put the box on legs and turn it into a mini-figure Lego case or a miniature Lego cupboard.
